CommentsWe went to Zafferano to celebrate our friends birthday (Abi). What a lovely surprise when we arrived there. The ambience is lovely, you get a sense of relaxation as soon as you enter the restaurant. The staff are impeccable and attentive, without being intrusive. As seasoned travellers we have eaten in a variety of restaurants and can without doubt say "that the food and wine at Zafferano is second to none". We would recommend anyone travelling to Chania or anywhere on Crete for that matter, to make a point of visiting Zafferano,Platanias the journey will be well worth the eating experience. CommentsWhat a great standard of restaurant to discover on our Cretan holiday - it rivals anywhere we've ever eaten in London. Reading the menu made us hungry and we wondered.... can this taste as good as it sounds? Well I have to tell you - it looked and tasted even better! I can still remember the wonderful black truffle and pecorino ravioli (absolutely delicious)and Anna, my wife loved the lobster linguine and the fillet with porcini mushrooms. The kids were very happy, they ate fresh homemade lasagne and the traditional wood-fired oven pizzas - we all adored this place. Please open a restaurant in England!

We have visited your restaurant (both Zafferano and Kariatis) several times since we first came to Platanias. We just love your food and wines, the excellent service and the atmosphere at the restaurants. We are going to Platanias in July this year and to visit Zafferano is a must! This year we will bring my parents as well.
CommentsWe discovered this wonderful restaurant during our two week holiday in Crete this summer and it was a pleasing alternative to the Greek taverns. We enjoyed the food much more than the food we experienced during a recent trip to Italy!

CommentsWe visited Zafferano in 2006 and 2007 and will be doing so again this year. It is one of the best places to eat and the atmosphere and staff exceptional.
